A fresh central heating boiler can upgrade your gas heating system
As the cold winter approaches the nights get longer and the coldness creeps in, so we must all be prepared, and the best way to do this is via a central heating system. There’s nothing cosier than a warm room while a blizzard rages outdoors, and this warmth is best provided by a sturdy and efficient gas central heating system.
Central heating systems, which basically comprise of a set of central heating radiators, central heating boiler and pipework, can be segregated into two distinct classes, pumped systems and vented systems.
The most commonly used gas central heating systems are the pumped systems, which consists of two outstanding parts, a feed and expansion tank; the tank is the core of the system, it first heats itself and then transfers the heat to the heaters through the pipes. The expansion tank will always allow for any water expansion that may occur as it gets hot.
There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to warm the heating radiators. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. A sealed gas central heating system removes the risk of water leakage, airlock formation and pipe freeze (a common problem in the harsh winters of countries like Russia).
So you might ask what is really the point of getting gas central heating?.
The primary benefit of gas central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. Gas fires, electric heaters and storage heaters were more commonly used in the past. However these heaters had a smell around them and they also affected the surrounding air, making it less pleasant as an internal environment.
Central heating ended such problems, however your gas central heating system should be checked and maintained regularly in order to ensure it is running at its optimum. A lot of families switch them off during the warm summer months and as soon as a cold snap hits, they then switch them on, this should not be done. Instead, you should start using the gas central heating system during the autumn season so that if any problem comes to the fore, you can call the engineer and get it rectified before the wintertime.
It is also important to remember that most household central heating systems allow in dust or air, thus requiring regular drainage. The best way to do it is to keep a bucket under the valve, and slowly open it to allow all the water to come out; before closing the valve, ensure that no more water is coming out.
