Check combination boilers for space economy
Combi boiler systems offer many storage space saving and energy efficiency advantages for the petite household. You only need a combi gas boiler and balanced flue to install a full central heating system without any other components. All that is additionally called for to heat your rooms is some copper pipes and some radiators. Many people might enquire whether some component parts had been excluded from this system. Central heating systems seem to require a hot water cylinder to store water, a feed and enlargement cylinder in the loft and a water pump to move everything around.
If you have a contemporary combi gas boiler it will not need any of these incremental parts. The hot water storage tank can be omitted from your system, there is no need for an attic based feed and expansion tank, the other smaller component parts we have mentioned are in reality built into the combi heating boiler. As a consequence you can save a substantial amount of space in your household.
Do not think that all this is new as combi heating boilers have been installed for a while now. Whilst they were first fitted in the Continent they are now a very popular boiler for installation in the UK. There are two major divergences to be highlighted when compared with conventional boilers. The first point to highlight is that the circulating hot water for the central heating is within a fully sealed system. This means that there is no need for a feed and expansion tank in the attic. The boiler itself incorporates a large capacity enlargement cylinder but again this is part of the sealed unit.
Domestic hot water is created on demand, this is signalled when you turn on a tap. Cold water is quickly heated up by the use of an efficient heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is heated by diverting circulating hot water from the central heating system. Fresh cold water from the external mains passes through this heat exchanger where it is heated before it reaches the hot water tap.
Hot water production is prioritised ahead of the passing of hot water to the radiators. Once the valve is shut and the need for hot water is removed the system will return to supplying hot water to the radiators.
It is possible to set up a new heating boiler in a small flat and not require a significant amount of storage space.
