The tank supplies your house with hot water and provides the heating radiators with heat. Any water expansion that may occur due to heating is handled by the expansion tank. The tank is placed in the highest place, normally the attic area. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.
Many homes feature a pumped/vented Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.
A slightly newer gas boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred central heating system in newer properties. This system doesn’t have water tanks as it’s a closed heating system, this will save you space and reduce maintenance costs as there are fewer components. There are benefits to have this closed type of system with pipework and tanks being unnecessary.

All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. The mains water supplies the water required for the sealed Gas Central Heating system. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.
The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. A safety valve will let water to escape or fill up depending on whether the pressure becomes too high or too low respectively.
Gas Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
