Do you recognise the divergent forms of central heating boilers
Different types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the market. A boiler, central heating radiator and pipework are common components in many of these Central Heating Systems, they are simple in plumbing terms.
Air conditioning is not a priority for residents of Europe and northern countries as these regions experience cold weather most of the year with short duration summertimes. Many of us find proper heating a necessity; as a result most of the new homes being constructed today are built with a Gas Central Heating System.
Heating is vital, especially as wintertime is fast approaching. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. For this, you need a reliable boiler in your Gas Central Heating system. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.
Vented (or pumped) and Sealed heating systems are the two most common types available.
The vented/pumped one is more common of the two. Heating systems using the pump or vent process are equipped with a tank to allow for feeding of replacement water and expansion of heated water. Hot water from the storage tank supplies your kitchen and bath while also heating up the heating radiators. The expansion tank has enough space to allow for the expanding of water as a result of heating. The expansion tank is placed at highest spot to help create water pressure. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.
Older homes generally have pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems.
A slightly newer, more up-to-date central heating boiler that many people are choosing over a pumped/vented Gas Central Heating system is a sealed system. As the name indicates, a sealed system is a an enclosed system therefore no expansion water tanks are needed. There are benefits to have this closed type of system with pipework and tanks being unnecessary.
- No risk of freezing pipes in the loft.
- As opposed to pumped/vented systems there is no need for maintenance work on tanks or pipes.
- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.
- The sealing off of the system eliminates dirt buildup, air locking and corrosion that often troubles open vented systems.
- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if necessary.
All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. The water for the system is provided directly from the main water pipe of the house. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.
The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. The pressure in a sealed Gas Central Heating System is controlled by a valve that lets water out if the pressure becomes too high and opens to refill the system with water if the pressure gets too low.
Compared to any other form of heating, Gas Central Heating systems are by far the most practical and economical. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
